We’re weeks away from the 2020 HIMSS Global Health Conference and Exhibition on March 9-13. But before you hop into a plane or car and head to Orlando, we suggest you review these tips to ensure a successful HIMSS20.

1. Remember Your Goal and Plan Wisely
If you’re headed to HIMSS20, you have a goal to accomplish, and with only five days, you can’t attend all 350+ learning and training sessions. Time management is going to be extremely important if you want to make the most of your HIMSS journey.

HIMSS20 covers 17 different educational topics, including digital health, innovation, patient engagement, privacy and security, population and public health, and more.

The obvious tip is to go to sessions that line up with your goal, but we also advise you to leave room for other activities besides only attending educational sessions. HIMSS20 offers plenty of learning opportunities outside of sitting in a room with a notebook and pen.

2. Go to the Exhibition Hall and Don’t Forget Your Map
HIMSS attracts more than 1,300 exhibitors, what this equates to is a very impressive – and maze-like – show floor. The goal of exhibiting companies is to encourage attendees to reimagine health, wellness, and technology with the latest technology innovations and solutions.

This is a can’t-miss experience, and we highly advise you to keep your floor map handy. You should consider which booths you want to check out ahead of time, but also walk around and see where you gravitate to – every exhibitor will have something unique to offer.

3. Be Social in Person and Online
With an expected number of 45,000 attendees from 90+ countries, to call HIMSS20 a significant networking opportunity is an understatement. From the show floor to breakout groups and even small talk in the coffee line – HIMSS20 is the prime opportunity to talk to experts and peers in your field. We suggest going beyond a handshake and be a part of conversations through social media.

Make sure you’re following this year’s hashtags: #HIMSS20 and #BeTheChange. HIMSS20 also announced its Digital Influencer Program of changemakers to enrich the digital experience for HIMSS20 attendees. You can join the conversation by following the changemakers on Twitter and connecting on LinkedIn.

We will also be tweeting HIMSS20 information from the show floor, so follow us on twitter to see what’s going on.

Bonus Tip: Stop by the iatricSystems Booth (#4259)
This year, our focus at HIMSS20 is helping attendees take the first step to overcome their IT challenges.
