An Eye-Opening On-Demand Webinar on Slashing Sepsis Death Rates Image

As I wrote in a blog post on May 3, we were honored that Sallie Arnett, CIO of Licking Memorial Health Systems, shared her hospital’s sepsis success in a live webinar which we held on May 17. If you didn’t have the opportunity to attend, here’s a link so that you can watch it on demand. And here’s an updated version of what I posted on May 3:

Those of us in the healthcare industry understand how potentially devastating sepsis can be. In fact, it’s the number one cause of death in U.S. hospitals. But not all of us know that these deaths are preventable 80% of the time — a truth that has been borne out in some amazing clinical successes.

Proper management cut sepsis deaths 70%

I wrote about one such case in a blog post last year. It talked about the exceptional work being done by Sallie Arnett, Vice President of Information Systems and CIO at Licking Memorial Health Systems in Ohio. Sallie and her team helped Licking reduce their sepsis mortality rate 70% through proper sepsis management — and they saved 121 lives in 2016 and 2017.

What a powerful story! That’s why I’m thrilled to share the on-demand version of her talk with you.

Watch this On-Demand Webinar:
When Time Matters: Leveraging Actionable Data to Combat Sepsis

Tune in to Sallie’s webinar and you’ll learn how to:

  • Understand all the sepsis risk factors
  • See why rapid treatment is the difference between life and death
  • Increase physician and staff awareness within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Leverage technology to react to sepsis in real time — and save lives

I had the honor of seeing Sallie present Licking’s story at the Fall 2017 CHIME conference, and I can tell you she’s a remarkable person at the forefront of some truly life-giving work. Anyone involved in sepsis management or healthcare IT in general will benefit greatly from hearing her speak.

Enjoy the webinar.
